Herbology Master Class in Hamburg – Day 1

July 10, 2009

So, here we are, first day of Herbology Master Class is behind us and it’s time to sum up impressions. Sorry for possible grammatical mistakes, I’m writing this in speed because lots of otherĀ  things needs to be done during the weekend.
This is first time that we are organizing a course with international guests and due to lack of space we were limited on maximum 10 participants but I can already see now that for next course we will have to rent bigger room.

So, what happened on first day? It started with explaining the basics of TCM with main focus on greatest Chinese teacher, Lao Zi. Lao Zi is most famous by his book Tao Te Ching and by his great discovery of meridians and human energy field. He was the first person who discovered meditation and used it to regenerate him self. His main focus was on Yin Yang and using this formula he discovered many patterns of nature which were completely unknown in that time.
After Lao Zi, focus was more on concrete topics of human organs and meridians. Western medicine is mainly focused on sickness and do not understand the internal connectivity and dependency. Western medicine is also focusing a lot on brain while TCM have main focus on 5 main organs, heart, spleen, kidneys, lungs and liver and all other supporting organs like gall bladder, digestion… Brain is only a product of organ activity. If organs are out of balance, brain activity will be affected.
Main cause of all sickness are emotions and these emotions are produced by 5 main organs. Heart: fear, Spleen: thinking, Lungs: worry, Kidneys: depression and Liver: anger. These main emotions are main cause for cancers, tumors, heart diseases and any other health disorders. Many people believe that emotions are part of their personality and cannot be changed or, for worse, they are proud of them. The fact is that people with certain emotions are just sick because their organs are out of balance. Organs can be balanced by stimulating energy points on our meridians and this can be done by several methods like acupuncture, massage, certain food combination and with some types of exercises but the best way to balance your organs and emotions is with meditation / relaxation and practicing of quieting your mind.

Our body contains network of meridians where energy circulates. These meridians are completely invisible by modern technology. If meridians are damaged by some physical force like operation, cuts or other injuries they can be only recovered by meditation / relaxations, no other technique or substance can recover them.

This is just quick overview of the the topics covered on 1st day. Today main topic will be 5 elements and how they shape our personality.
